There are plenty of musicals featuring love stories, but there is nothing quite like Jamie and Cathy’s. Through unconventional storytelling and emotionally jarring music, Jason Robert Brown brings a story of both love and heartbreak to life. Cathy and Jamie aren’t fairy tale characters that end up happily ever after, they’re real people with emotions, opinions, and personal tragedies. The human aspects of the show make it one of the most endearing love stories ever told - even if they don’t end up together.

About Jason Robert Brown

Jason Robert Brown, a composer, lyricist, playwright, and accomplished pianist, premiered The Last Five Years at Chicago's Northlight Theatre in 2001. It was then produced Off-Broadway in March 2002, winning Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Lyrics and Outstanding Music in 2002. He also won Tony Awards for his work on Parade and The Bridges of Madison County.
