Happy New Year!

We made it in to the new decade! Thank you to all who joined us for our New Year’s Eve fundraiser and party on Tuesday. We have a lot of fun putting together this show each year with one of our favorite local artists, Kryssy Becker. This year’s production was no exception as the entire cast brought their A game all three nights.

The Greek gods seemed to entrance the audiences, playing off of the audience members lucky enough to acquire one of the cabaret tables or even the audience members who shouted from their seats. Many patrons even became gods of their own, including Hermes, who called dibs on the next round of beer pong with Poseidon. The whole audience participated in cheering on the young lovers, Hades and Persephone, when they finally ended up together and guffawed anytime Zeus made a pass at, well, anything. By the end of the night, we were all ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’ right along with the cast!

Those who have not attended one of our New Year’s Eve fundraisers have yet to be a part of a whole new experience at Tipping Point. This year’s production included a 7 person musical, complete with a live band on stage. Piano, guitar, and drums only added to the rock concert energy that filled our black box. Patrons also enjoyed alcoholic beverages along with food catered from Edwards inside our theatre, something that is not offered during any of our regular productions.

Our three apprentices are always working hard, but they really rose to the occasion to flip the set for New Year’s.

After closing our added performance of Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!) on Sunday Dec. 22, they primed the entire space with new paint. On Monday, Toni took a trip back home to Pennsylvania for some much needed family time while Marisa and Shannon began some of the bigger work on the set with Dan, our Director of Marketing and Development. Everyone was off for Dec. 24 & 25 for Christmas, but on Thursday, it was back on! Artwork was printed, curtains were hung and Marisa whipped together a gorgeous lighting design for the show in
just two days!

Because of all of their hard work and dedication, the show opened on Friday Dec. 27 after only 3 and a half work days worth of time.

But the theatre never sleeps! One day later, and the TPTeam has already begun transitioning into our build and rehearsal process for The 39 Steps, opening at the end of this month.

Thank you to all who attended and a huge round of applause to our performers and musicians for rocking the house with their Olympian might. We’ll see you next year!

Missed out on the fun? Check out some photos from the event below!

HAPPY NEW YEAR
