Novelist Charles Condo mine is torn between two lovers: one dead, and one alive. At the top of the play, Charles and his wife, Ruth, are preparing for a dinner party with a medium, Madame Arcati, as research for Charles' newest novel, "The Unseen." What should be an amusing evening of observation turns on its head when Arcati inadvertently resurrects Charles· first wife, Elvira. Only seen by Charles, Elvira is soon creating trouble between Charles and Ruth. The improbabilities continue to unfold in Coward's hilarious comedy, as one séance leads to another, resurrections lead to deaths, and adages like ‘til death do us part’ and ‘parting is such sweet sorrow’ are taken to new heights!
