HATE
MAIL
by Bill Corbett & Kira Obolensky
ABOUT
Preston returns to his Midwest home from his trip to New York with a broken souvenir snow globe and a damaged camel hair jacket. His disgruntled letter requesting a refund for the faulty globe from the shop is received by Dahlia, a down on her luck artist just trying to make ends meet. Citing the store’s ‘no refund’ policy, the resulting chain of letters between the two lost souls becomes never ending, creating unlikely pen pals that always seem to find one another through life’s ups and downs.
A parody of A. R. Gurney’s Love Letters, Hate Mail by Bill Corbett and Kira Obolensky is a fundraiser for Tipping Point Theatre and marks their first virtual streaming experience. Streaming exclusively through Broadway On Demand starting on December 31st, 2020 - January 3rd, 2021, audiences will have the ability to cast the show from their choice of 6 different actors. This innovative idea allows patrons 9 unique experiences for the price of one ticket and includes options for gender switching the roles.
Patrons will have 2 weeks after their initial stream date to enjoy all of the productions.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with other beautiful folks during this unique and challenging time. As an artist whose family depends on Theatre--not only for joy and soul fulfilling expression, but for food in our bellies and clothes on our backs--I thank you. Thank you for supporting local professional theatre artists. It is my most sincere desire to safely see you in the theatre soon!”

Dez Walker
Dez is excited to once again be doing work with Tipping Point Theatre, especially on such an interesting project with such a talented array of actors. Dez is a local actor and can be seen (pre-pandemic) on stages across Michigan. Can also be seen and heard on tv, radio, and the internet. During his extended downtime, Dez loves cooking to distract him from the love of his depressing local sports teams. So much so in fact, that he has started a food channel on Instagram (@Dining_With_Dez).
“This is such a unique production and credit goes to the wonderful people at Tipping Point for putting together such a diverse, inclusive show especially during these times. I hope you enjoy viewing this as much as we have enjoyed putting it together for you!"
